Virginie Faivre

former Freestlye Skier,
3x Halfpipe World Champion

Virginie Faivre is a former Swiss freestyle skier. Born in Lausanne and coming from a family of skiers, she started skiing when she was only two years old. After 10 years competing in alpine skiing, she discovered ski freestyle in a trip to Canada.

A true pioneer of this sport, Virginie won the FIS Halfpipe World Championships title three times, making her the most successful athlete ever in the event. In addition, Virginie won the halfpipe World Cup title on two occasions, finishing on the podium an impressive 12 times in 19 starts.

Virginie has also competed at the Olympics, finishing fourth at the Olympic debut of freeski halfpipe at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, 2014. After being at the top for more than 13 years, Virginie officially retired in December 2016 and is currently focused on her sport management studies and work for the Swiss Sports Aid Foundation.

Virginie is currently a member Swiss Olympic Athletes' Commission.
