Patrick Nally, often described as ‘the Godfather of modern sports marketing’, joins the Academy

The Academy is proud to announce that Patrick Nally has joined the Academy team. Patrick, one of the world’s leading sports marketing gurus and founding partner of globally renowned public relations agency West Nally Group, will be opening the conference with a keynote address.

Through the work of West Nally, Patrick created the blueprint for sports sponsorship which generates billions of dollars for major rights holders to this day. He helped to define the past of sports marketing and is now shaping the future through continued work with international sports federations, as a consultant for UNESCO and as the President of the International Federation of Poker. He will be sharing his expertise, experiences and insights with participants setting the scene for an active-packed two-day conference.

Patrick joins the already impressive list of speakers that have thus far been announced, including Bill King, Hugo Sharman, David Tomlinson, Martin Kaswurm and Vincent Gaillard - all leading experts in their respective fields.

The Academy has reaffirmed its appeal as participants from a range of sports from around the world have registered - including national Olympic committees and national federations from countries as diverse as Denmark, Iran, Turkey, the US, Switzerland and the UK and sports such as Athletics, Swimming, Archery, Wrestling, Cricket, and Football, among others.

Participants are sharing their enthusiasm for the Academy, such as recent comment from Mr. Nick Pink, Regional Development Manager Europe, International Cricket Council: "The Academy provides us at the International Cricket Council and our Member Federations with a unique opportunity to listen, engage and network with some of the leading experts supporting global and national sports organisations. This will inspire them to further develop themselves in an ever increasing and competitive market place. We have identified the Academy as a key event to ensure we stay ahead and are aware of how to support our Member Federations, whilst ensuring we continue to learn and develop as an International Federation."
